"I can't say enough about Larry's skills as a guide. He is capable, responsible and excited about what he does! Did I mention he is a lot of fun too? Our family started hiking when my children were little. Eventually, my son's interest and desire to tackle more challenging peaks and conditions exceeded mine. Larry was the perfect solution! He provided the leadership and guidance that a teenager still needed yet he was able to relate to a teen well enough to make the excursions just the right mix of challenging and safe. He was a super role model for my son and they still share hiking stories and make plans for a peak they'll tackle "someday".
Larry was also involved in some hikes that included my very small (but usually mighty) youngest daughter. On occasion that she needed encouragement to finish off a peak, he was cleverly able to coax her on while acknowledging what an amazing hiker she was turning out to be - just the ego boost she needed! He never for a minute let her believe that she was "too little" to make it.
